Much like its sister products Nimbus and Orbital, Sol uses a combination of a number of identical pieces to create a fascinating organic form. Sol’s designer, Simon Goldstein, says “Sol radiates from a single point, expanding on the spiral design to create an alluring form of organic geometry, seen in the petals of emerging flowers as in the glowing reaches of distant solar systems,” which sums it up pretty well we think. As with Nimbus and Orbital, Sol comes in two sizes, with this larger size suiting larger, open-plan spaces.Sol is made with the same Polypropylene material as a number of other Design Instinct products. As well as using this eco-friendly, and completely recyclable material, Sol comes in a box made from 75% recycled cardboard, with an instruction manual printed on 100% recycled paper.
Sol can be used with any light bulb up to 60 Watts, but we would encourage you to use energy saving bulbs wherever possible. For the best results Design Instinct recommends Halogen replacement bulbs, or ‘warm white’ or ‘daylight’ compact fluorescent energy saving bulbs.
