30 interlocking sections create this exciting, multifaceted form. While complex, Orbital’s organic curves demonstrate considerable beauty which will become a talking point in any room. Orbital can be fitted directly to any normal pendant light fitting, and comes pre-assembled to make sure it’s nice and easy to put up.As with a considerable number of other Design Instinct products, Orbital is made from Polypropylene; this is a very eco-friendly plastic to produce and is also 100% recyclable. Not only does this mean that we can recycle any waste produced when we make this shade, it also means you don’t need to worry about clogging up landfill should you ever decide to part with our beloved shade, as Polypropylene is commonly taken as part of domestic recycling collections. As with pretty much all our products most of Orbital is made here in the UK, ensuring it has a small carbon footprint, and it’s supplied in a box made from 75% recycled material and an instruction manual made printed on 100% recycled paper using eco-friendly inks.
Orbital can be used with any light bulb up to 60 Watts, but we would encourage you to use energy saving bulbs wherever possible. For the best results Design Instinct recommends Halogen replacement bulbs, or ‘Daylight’ compact fluorescent energy saving bulbs.
