Yet another brilliant design by Erik Magnussen

Danish company  Stelton, who make a number of seriously sleek and beautiful homeware products often designed by big names such as Paul Smith and Arne Jacobsen. The ABS Plast is designed by Erik Magnussen and is fresh for 2012. It comes in three colours (all of which are featured here; aqua, azur and smoke) and the best news about it is that they fit with Brita’s water filters.  So why not start the year with the best looking water jug around.

For those of you lucky enough to be attending the new homewares and interiors accessories trade event, Home, you’ll be able to check them out for real as Stelton are one of the exhibitors. At Earls Court in London, from the 15th to the 17th of January, 2012.

Red Dot Design Award Winner 2011

With over 4,000 entries from 40 countries, the annual red dot design award ranks among the largest design competitions worldwide. The competition is divided into two sections – product design and communication design – which are staged and adjudicated separately. The coveted trophy in both is the red dot, the international seal of quality for outstanding design. The award winning products are displayed online and published in a yearbook.

We can see why today’s item won the 2011 Red Dot Design Award. It’s a kitchen item with a twist… The Callista lemon squeezer is a new product from Blomus, now available at Dennis and McGregor. Blomus products have a knack for being artistic and modern, yet affordable. The designers drew their inspiration for the item from the natural world. Retro Kids inspired by Blafre

Established in 2005, BLAFRE DESIGN is a family company run by Ingrid and Remi Fagervik with their little daughter Nora providing much of the inspiration. Located in Norway, Ingrid creates wonderful 70’s inspired colourful designs that feature on an ever-expanding range of products which include cards, storage boxes, drink bottles and prints.

Great retro inspired lunch boxes with unique designs – perfect for packed lunches or for use as a storage tin. The lunchbox has a white plastic and metal handle and metal clip closure perfect for little hands! Perfect partner with their great stainless steel drinking bottles. Höganäs Keramik- We believe in the beauty

A small tongue of land violates the dark waves of the sound.  Here is a special place.   Many have made a pilgrimage here. Few places on earth is so generous.  There are huge rocks at the side of the real fairy tale forests, beaches that have attracted envy of many Italians, and especially all the good things from the earth and the animals and the seasons.

Artists have fallen in love with the light, where the sea meets the sea.  Cafes and hotels have seen both simple and royal guests.  Women and men have sea bathed together, when one wishes only dared dream of such sins.  And the flavors and fragrances have pleased the most discriminating of palates.  In the middle of beautiful Kullabygden, Höganäs Keramik originated.

We believe in the beauty.  A boldly shaped jug, a mug that is lovely to hold, or a colorful bowl you just can not take your eyes off.  Already our first glaze master let the love of Kullabygden seen in both jars and barrels.

The material was captured Earth, satisfaction of the meal and atmosphere. 
Even today, burning of Höganäs Ceramics for the natural beauty.  Simple everyday items of stoneware designed with dedication, passion and creativity. And experience, of course.  The basic idea has always been the same: a strong belief in Swedish design, where color, form and function go hand in hand.

Normann Copenhagen Dustpan and Broom

Designed by Ole Jensen and created with a keen twist, the Dustpan and Broom allows you to clean with precision and style, complete with a small resting hole to perfectly set the brush in the pan or hang it on the wall. Perfect for those who like everything nice and neat.

Ole Jensen trained at the Arts and Crafts College in Kolding, Denmark and the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen from 1985-88. He has been in co-operation with Bing & Grondahl (now Royal Scandinavia) since 1985. He was Project Leader at Denmark’s School of Design, Copenhagen from 1992-1999. He has had a wide selection of exhibitions, including a permanent exhibition at the V&A Museum in London, and won a collection of awards, including the Design Plus Prize in 1998.
