Whiskey Glasses by Normann Copenhagen

Designed by Rikke Hagen .  Once again Rikke has designed an exclusive glass for Normann Copenhagen – one that combines elegance, pleasure and function in a simple, Nordic design.

Whiskey conveys an elegant expression, and the entire experience revolves around how you hold the glass in your.  Aroma, temperature and volume all come together and the wide opening completes the indulgence.

Rikke explains ” Just like the Cognac glass I have designed, my inspiration for the Whiskey glass stems from my passion fore collecting stones on the beach.  The act of playing with stones in one’s hand is an serene, meditative movement can be summed up in a functional and aesthetic design.  The curve at the bottom provides a natuaral grasp for the glass, and the little bubble elegantly elevates the ice cubes like little ice blocks”

London Transport Museum commission Michelle Manson

Award- winning designer Michelle Mason has been commissioned to create home accessories inspired by the rich design heritage of London’s transport.  The graphic has been reworked from the original 1930’s design by Marion Dorn.

Design will include Boxed Stationery Sets, Flip-up notebooks, Underground map lampshades and underground colour clips.

Yet another brilliant design by Erik Magnussen

Danish company  Stelton, who make a number of seriously sleek and beautiful homeware products often designed by big names such as Paul Smith and Arne Jacobsen. The ABS Plast is designed by Erik Magnussen and is fresh for 2012. It comes in three colours (all of which are featured here; aqua, azur and smoke) and the best news about it is that they fit with Brita’s water filters.  So why not start the year with the best looking water jug around.

For those of you lucky enough to be attending the new homewares and interiors accessories trade event, Home, you’ll be able to check them out for real as Stelton are one of the exhibitors. At Earls Court in London, from the 15th to the 17th of January, 2012.

Retro Kids inspired by Blafre

Established in 2005, BLAFRE DESIGN is a family company run by Ingrid and Remi Fagervik with their little daughter Nora providing much of the inspiration. Höganäs Keramik- We believe in the beauty

A small tongue of land violates the dark waves of the sound.  Here is a special place.   Many have made a pilgrimage here. Few places on earth is so generous.  There are huge rocks at the side of the real fairy tale forests, beaches that have attracted envy of many Italians, and especially all the good things from the earth and the animals and the seasons.

Artists have fallen in love with the light, where the sea meets the sea.  Cafes and hotels have seen both simple and royal guests.  Women and men have sea bathed together, when one wishes only dared dream of such sins.  And the flavors and fragrances have pleased the most discriminating of palates.  In the middle of beautiful Kullabygden, Höganäs Keramik originated.

We believe in the beauty.  A boldly shaped jug, a mug that is lovely to hold, or a colorful bowl you just can not take your eyes off.  Already our first glaze master let the love of Kullabygden seen in both jars and barrels.

The material was captured Earth, satisfaction of the meal and atmosphere.

Stelton Statement Jug by Paul Smith

Lovers of design classics are in for another treat. Ever since the 1960s, bar accessories from Arne Jacobsen’s Cylinda-Line have defined the good life when it comes to serving everything from the perfect martini (shaken or stirred) to a classic scotch and soda.

Paul Smith has transformed Jacobsen’s bar series into a gorgeous fantasy in black. The special titanium alloy surface lends the steel a rich, deep black colour. Handles on the serving tray and the ice bucket remain in the original brushed steel finish, creating an effective contrast. Another surprising innovation is a collection of statements by the British designer himself, engraved into the black surface to reveal their message in steel. Paul Smith asks us to consider thoughts such as “Take pleasure seriously” and “Start something new” as we enjoy our drinks.

Statement is the ideal gift for the design-loving man or woman who is celebrating a special birthday, an anniversary or merely the joy of everyday living.

The black colour is titanium surfacing, which gives a very hard and durable surface. The statements are engraved through the titanium surface and into the stainless steel.
