Eames Style DAR Eiffel Arm Chair

Karen

Just like the DSR, these iconic chairs were so ahead of their time when designed in the 1950s. Available in 5 colours they transform even the most neutral of spaces and add a classic and understated vibrancy to any location. Perfect in addition with the DSR or on their own.

The design of this chair is so good you can simply add them to virtually any kind of dining table and the look is fantastic. Here we also give you the opportunity of buying together with an Eero Saarinen Tulip Table for the ultimate dining set.

The Chairs are constructed from rigid polypropylene seat tops that are built to withstand against everyday knocks and bumps. They are made to the closest possible match to the original design! The chrome tower ‘Eiffel’ base has 4 feet glides for ease of movement and protection of your floor. Fantastic dining or lounge chairs made to last.

Charles & Ray Eames were responsible for many of the modern classic designs we still see today and will continue to see well into the future! The Eames ‘Eiffel’ chair is no exception and gets its name from it’s chrome wire like base which is highly distinctive. This chair is just so versatile and this is one of the reasons for its notoriety! It is effective as a dining chair, as a lounge chair, as a side chair and looks good in literally any room of the house!

Peter Ghyczy Style Garden Egg Chair

Karen

After the Hungarian revolution of 1956, Peter Ghyczy left his native country and settled in West-Germany. He initially visited sculpture class at the art academy of Düsseldorf but soon decided to study architecture at the university in Aachen instead. With a degree in architecture, Peter Ghyczy became an employee of plastics producer Reuter in Lemförde.
In 1972, due to the conservative attitude of manufacturers,  decided to found his own company, ‘Ghyczy Selection’, which to this day continues to offer products of contemporary innovative design combined with state of the art production techniques.
The Garden Egg chair was designed by Peter Ghyczy in 1968. It was originally manufactured by Reuter Products. The chair was designed for both indoor/outdoor use and has become a real design icon of the mid 20th Century!

The back of this innovative indoor/outdoor chair can be folded down when not in use to form an egg shape sculpture that looks great whether it be within the home or the garden.

The chair is made from re-enforced fibreglass shell and a padded internal upholstery seat pad.

You can see his training progress here:  http://runkeeper.com/user/neildennis/profile

“For those of you that know me well, I have never been one for exercise, but decided to give running a go and have been training hard for the last 12 weeks. I am raising money for cancer research as it’s a great charity and we all know someone that has been effected by cancer at some point of their lives.”

“Keith (my business partner) had cancer during university and I found him really inspiring throughout university and now as he had such a great attitude throughout his treatment and after. He is all clear now, but it really hits home just how many people are effected, especially this close to home.”

Please consider sponsoring a small (or large!) amount and help this great cause.

Normann Copenhagen Moon Dish

Karen

Matthias Demacker was born in 1970, studied design at FH Niederhein in Krefeld.  During this time he worked for several design offices in the field of exhibition design.  After gratuating he moved to Munich to work for different design studios, where he designed for companies such as Ideal Standard, Bene and Wittmann.  In 2003 he set up his own studio called Demackerdesign where he created some unique and outstanding designs such as “Moon Dish”

Moon is a dish filled with holes, which breaks all the rules and takes tediousness out of the ordinary. It is an example of not always having to do what you are used to doing, and challenging conventional thinking while cultivating aesthetic awareness.

The inspiration of the Moon came when Matthias was experimenting with different patterns and was inspired to break with regularity. Like the surface of the moon, Moon consists of lots of holes, which gives an irregular pattern and casts a graphic shadow.

Material: Lacquered steel
Size: 35 diameter
