What a brilliant idea!!  With today’s hectic lifestyles it is so easy to lose track of all the things we need to do.  This way you can have an entire months worth of “Things to Do” right in front of you.  No paperwork, no lost calenders.

Just in time for the school term – get yourself organised with the kids after school activities, your much needed social life or just about anything that needs to be remembered.

Use the post-its included in the package to personalise the calendar. You can also write on the sticker with chalk.

Size: 100 x 98 cm

Material: vinyl

These stickers will be available in October – so keep checking back to see when they arrive!

MUUTO Plugged Pendant Lamp by Broberg & Ridderstrale

Karen

BROBERG & RIDDERSTRÅLE ON THE DESIGN    ”The Plugged pendant lamp plays with the elements most lighting armatures try to hide. It emphasizes how the lamp is “brought to life” thereby giving it character and difference. The space between the shade and the ceiling is highlighted by the pattern of the textile cord – and the placing of the plug on the side gives the lamp a dynamic appearance and brings life to an otherwise static typology. The concave diffuser adds to the freshness with the infinite sensation you get, when you look into the lamp.”

Mats Broberg and Johan Ridderstråle are Swedish design and architectural partners. Their work combines an aesthetic rationality with a touch of humour and wit. Broberg & Ridderstråle have both graduated from Konstfack University of design with honours and have been awarded the Swedish Art Council working grant. Their work has successfully been exhibited in Tokyo, Milan and London.

The Face of Dennis & McGregor

Karen

Dennis & McGregor showcase some of the worlds most exciting design-led product brands. As well as selling beautiful products, they also like blogging about new products that have been introduced to the market and showcasing interiors and offices that catch our imagination.

So who are Dennis and McGregor?  Neil Dennis & Keith McGregor, the creators of Strawberrysoup.  A web design company which led to the inspiration of Dennis & McGregor.

On meeting them for the first time one is quickly surprised at how young they are.  But these guys are no stranger to the world of business.  Having met while studying Business Information Systems Management at Bournemouth University back in 2001, it fast became apparent that they had a lot in common.

While completing their degrees both Neil & Keith spent 13 months working in successful business environments. Neil worked at Intel in Swindon where he project-managed the creation of a full intranet site for Intel Customer Support, and Keith within the Image and Printing Group at Hewlett Packard in Bracknell.

On completing University with a degree to back them up Neil and Keith decided to establish Strawberrysoup, a web and design agency. “I have always been interested in business and started my first business when I was 16 doing website design for small businesses in Guildford where I grew up.” says Neil, “ I had always planned to create my own career path, so when the opportunity arose in our final year of university, I jumped at the chance.”

The company expanded from a team of just two in 2005 to twelve today and has developed a healthy client list and portfolio along the way.

With business booming, Neil and Keith decided to identify new opportunities and in November 2009 they launched Dennis & McGregor, a new website selling contemporary design-led products.

It did not take long for Dennis & McGregor to gain momentum.  With well-known brands such as Bold and Noble, Guzzini, Normann Copenhagen and Twelve South, it was obvious that Dennis & McGregor was on the road to success.

Ten months down the line Dennis & McGregor has gone from strength to strength with sales doubling month on month.  Having recently secured a deal with one of the leading Danish suppliers who manufacture interior products with a graphic touch,  Ferm Living has further added to the contemporary living products on the Dennis & McGregor website.

“We are constantly on the lookout for new design-led products to add to our site” says Keith
“We have some fantastic suppliers and are very proud of the products and brands that we have available on our site. We are also really proud of the customer following and reputation that we have gained to date”.

Anglepoise Giant 1227 Lamp

Karen

The Giant1227 is three times the size of the standard lamp. It has a aluminium base with castors for easy positioning, and comes supplied with a bulb and dimmer for controlling the light output to suit different locations.

The Giant1227 was originally commissioned for the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre to be part of an oversized set of his writing den. Roald wrote all of his stories in his writing den in Great Missenden under the light of an Original Anglepoise 1227.

We initially made three lamps, and another one was auctioned off at Christies to raise money for the museum writing fund and it was bought by film Director Tim Burton, to go next to his giant chair from the remake of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory film.

The last one was exhibited at 100% design in London and went down so well that we put the product into production as a Limited edition product, 250 of these were sold in black, and then the Giant1227 was launched in a range of colours.

The product is three times the size of the Original 1227 from 1934. It works really well as a talking point or a centre piece in a range of interiors. We also offer a bespoke service where we can offer any colour.

Please note that there is 6-8 week delivery time as these lamps are made to order.
