Bring flowers inside with these stunning contemporary geometric Dahlia Rugs from Normann Copenhagen.
With a background in traditional floor ornaments, Claydies has used geometry and reflections to interpret rugs in a new way. Using the motive of the Dahlia flower, hence the name of the rug, Dahlia is both decorative and adds colour and dynamism to decor.
Design duo Claydies explains: “We are used to working three-dimensionally in stoneware. However, a rug has a two-dimensional form that places other demands on us on creating depth in the design. We have therefore worked with a round shape that creates good dynamics in the rug’s motif. We got hold of an
old compass and a bunch of coloured pencils and played around with simple geometric forms and reflections. In this way the motif of the Dahlia was created and we believe that the rug has now achieved both a classic and a modern, funky appearance”.
The Dahlia Rugs are produced in Denmark and are available in three colours – Blue/Grey, Orange/Corn and Red/Pink – and three sizes. They are beautifully made from 100% wool.
