Queensbury Hunt Levien was founded by David Queensbury and Martin Hunt in 1966 when they were both teaching in the ceramic department of the Royal College of Art, London. The Royal College is England’s leading postgraduate college of art and design. David Queensbury and Martin Hunt believe that there need not be a conflict between design excellence and the market place.
Many of their designs have bee extremely successful commercially and also received design awards. The work of the partnership is to be found in retail stores throughout the world and in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, which holds the largest collection of decorative art in the world.
In 1992 the partnership had the rare distrinction of being given a retrospective exhibition of 25 years of their work by the museum. Queensbury Hunt are specialists in the design of tableware, kitchenware and other household products and are particularly well known for their work in the ceramic industry.
They have a studio and workshop in London and their partnership works primarily for manufacturers but has recently undertaken a number of products for retailers and distributors.
